Das heutige Gebäude stammt wohl aus der Zeit um 1802, nachdem der Vorgängerbau 1799 abgebrannt war. Der Gewölbekeller ist wohl wesentlich älter. Dieses Haus ist noch bis ins 20. Jh. bekannt als „Sorge’sche Buchhandlung“, nachdem in den 1830er Jahren Buchhändler August Sorge hier eine Buch- und Musikalienhandlung nebst Leihbibliothek eingerichtet hatte. Auch nach seinem Tod führen div. Buchhändler das Geschäft weiter. Auch im 20. Jh. sind hier viele Jahre lang Zeitungen erhältlich, zusammen mit Rauchwaren; auch eine Buchhandlung gab es im linken Ladenteil noch einmal für eine gewisse Zeit. Dass sich in diesem Haus schon früher ein Ladengeschäft befunden hat, zeigen noch die historischen Schaufenstereinfassungen.
