\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Der Turm ist Teil der urspr\u00fcnglichen <\/span>Stadtmauer<\/span> aus dem 13. Jhdt.; f\u00fcr ein freies Schussfeld vor die Stadtmauer ragend. Es handelt sich um einen <\/span>offenen Schalenturm<\/span>, der bei Einnahme kein Versteck bot. Ersteigbar waren diese T\u00fcrme durch Leitern. Grundrisszeichnungen zeigen, dass sich hier die Turmmauer <\/span>mit jedem Stockwerk verj\u00fcngt<\/span>. In der nachmittelalterlichen Zeit hat man die T\u00fcrme ausgebaut zu <\/span>Wohnzwecken<\/span> und die Vorderseiten mit einer <\/span>Fachwerkwand<\/span> geschlossen. Jahrzehntelang diente dieser Stadtturm als Heimat des Vereins \u201eChristlicher Verein junger M\u00e4nner\u201c (bzw. \u201ejunger Menschen\u201c). <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>In der Umgebung des Turmes sind in der Stadtmauer noch unterschiedliche <\/span>Schie\u00dfscharten<\/span> und andere <\/span>\u00d6ffnungen<\/span> erkennbar. Vor der Stadtmauer befindet sich hier der jetzt verdeckte <\/span>M\u00fchlengraben<\/span>, der an dieser Stelle vor der Stadtmauer gleichzeitig einen gewissen Schutz vor Angriffen bedeutet. Die <\/span>Verteidigungsanlagen<\/span> mit Stadtmauer (ca. 1 m dick und bis 7 m hoch) und Au\u00dfenw\u00e4llen samt Knick- und (teilweise) Wassergr\u00e4ben werden seinerzeit als \u201emachtvoll\u201c beschrieben. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span>Entlang der Stadtmauer zieht sich die <\/span>Schildwache,<\/span> die damals nicht bebaut werden durfte. Diese wurde mit der Zeit stark angehoben.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 <\/span><\/span>Achtung<\/span>: bei dem St\u00fcck Mauer gegen\u00fcber der Stadtmauer handelt es sich <\/span>nicht<\/span> um einen \u201e<\/span>Zwinger<\/span>\u201c.<\/span><\/p>\n

Anmerkung: An diesem Ort findet keine Ausstellung statt. Er wird Aktionsort des Internationalen Jugendcamps des IJGD w\u00e4hrend des DenkmalKunst-Festivals sein.<\/em><\/p>\n
